06 black smoke and no power

Hey guys just need a few ideas I'm stuck in jasper Alberta because my 06 auto with Jake brake and edge juice decided it wanted to loose all its power. It's having a hard time even getting over 40 km/hr doesn't matter if I put it on stock or extreme it blows smoke and doesn't want to go, I drained the fuel filter and went about 2kms up the hwy and it decided to fully come back to life for about 2kms then back to nothing, also the Jake brake switch is off but the Jake is stuck on except for when it got its power back for that 2kms, I've tried pulling the fuse out for the Jake brake and it's still on. Also egts are easily getting up to 1300. Coolant and tranny seem to be running 10degrees hotter as well. So I'm wondering if you guys think I have more of a computer problem or fuel or Jake brake. It not setting any codes, it fires up fine and doesn't seem to stumble at all like it did when the last injector went on it. I also noticed the edge box seemed fairly warm as well as the battery post on the passenger battery. Any help will be appreciated thanks

sounds like a boost leak. unhook the jake from its air or vacuum source. stay off the edge or you will melt your motor if your not careful

Ya I thought of that and checked the boots but they all seem to be fine, I also forgot to mention I can't get over 2000rpms or build any boost, except for that brief 2kms everything came back to normal

my 06 did that once, I changed the fuel filter out and she did come back from dead mode, takes a few minutes, I had a bad tank of fuel, refueled the truck and changed the filter out after a few hundred KM and she was fine, no power and lots of smoke, good luck. Oh ya since then I always have 2 or 3 fuel filters under the back seat.

Unplug the juice and change the fuel filter.

Sounds like the Jake is the problem. It is doing what it was designed to do and slow the truck down. You have to get it to not engage and see what happens.

well I got the truck running the next morning and hit the jake a few times then it finally turned off, and the truck was back to running good again, I made my way home over the next 2 days without using the jake and the truck was working good, but I thought once I got home id try it and see if it sticks again and it worked good down the first hill but the 2nd hill it stuck and went back to no power.
thanks for the help guys,
