"05" Transmission Problems

Hi im new to the forum just got a used 05 2500 quad cab CTD bought 3 months ago my problem is from a stop goin real slow threw like a neiborhood it seems to go back and forth between 1st and 2nd really fast till i step on the gas than it goes to 1st than as long as i stay on the gas it goes threw all 4 gears fine no slipping. the second problem is when im crusing about 35-40 im guessing and i stomp the gas theres a long pause like slipping between grears like 2-4 seconds i was wondering is it the tranny or Torque converter and what can i do to fix the problem, only got 49,000 on the truck but just put a 5"turbo back exhaust with no cat and my bullydog power pup with outlook monitor will be in this week so i dont think the dealer will help much

True and if they did fix it it still want hold what you got. Best bet is upgrade the tranny. Look around on here and you can find alot of info. My best advice is dont wait till it gets much worse.

Do a little asking before you take the truck in. Dont admit or let them write down anything that you done. If they see the truck you may be out of luck. You mite find a dealer that want crap on you. Since my problems I will much wiser from now on.

for above with the power pup. download your truck to stock if you take it in and leave the pup at home. dont say anything to them about mods on it. I would say youre gonna need to go threw the tranny. if you like your truck and want to keep modding it, the stock tranny wont last too long. my truck shifts back and fourth about 30mph. some dealers are picky about the exhaust others arent. I found a dealer that doesnt ask questions or point out mods they just fix the issues.

See the link I posted above. If you have an 05 or newer its the only solution that is showing consistent positive results. Your choice, about $250 for the controller or $400-$600 for a VB that won't cure the problem.

The problem your describing is common. Use the search feature and you wll find many posts on the issue. Yes the DTT shift enhancer works, find a dealer near you to have it installed and programmed.

Mine does the same thing at a vert light take off. 54K on the truck.
I just thought it was between gears, did not know it was a problem. I will take it in this fall before the warranty is out.
