My 04' just died yesterday, exact symptoms. Gonna trailer it to the dealer today. No CEL but has 5 codes, most from the tst I think.

 

Mike, Ive had nothing but problems with Lithia. Now follow through, no communication and no brains. They had my truck for 3.5 days to change a ball joint and the front crank seal. When i picked it up they did the ball joints but not the seal. The service writter told me the seal was on "national back order" and it would be 30- days before parts would be in. I called another dealer and he had onre on his shelf, and told me walnut creek dodge had one, and tracy dodge had two.

Anyway after i told them where to get the part i left. The tech had one of my backing plates rubbing the rotor, then when i brought the truck back for the pump a few days later they could not get the clutch fam off. I had to go down there and hold the techs hand to get him to think outside the box.

Forst the service writer told me they had to go rent a special puller. A dealer had to "rent" a tool, where did they go Pep boys? Anyway once i went down there and made a few sudgestions they found the corect tool in the next bay over.

So they get it off and chage the parts, i drive home and the next day im driving down the road and the crank pully nearly falls off. It seems the tech forgot to tighten it up. Now i think the crank sensor is damaged as it has a stumble at idle in gear.

I dont think im going back to Lithia anytime soon. Just do your research first and know what the problem is before you go in.

 

Mike it is covered under the powertrain. I had mine changed no charge on my 04 by Brentwood dodge at 58K miles.

Dont let them cheat you it is covored and if they say different they dont know what they are talking about. Go to Stead in Walnut Creek.

I say pay the 100$ and be glad you are not footing the whole bill.

 

I know Brentwood is closing , i wasnt saying for him to go there, just sighting my previous repair there as an example.

Why should he pay $100 for no reason. Why she he be glad, he has a stock truck w/ less than 50K and the pump goes out.....screw that.

Yeah the Brentwood Dodge is closing, very upsetting.
The joke towards mike was a inside thing, nothing thats needs to be rehashed.

I actually called Brentwood to get a 2nd quote & they told me they didn't have a diesel tech (no idea if it was because they were closing).

I dropped it off at 10am Monday & got a call at 5:50pm that it was ready.
Since I was on my way out the door for a funeral/memorial, I picked it up Tuesday morning.

When I dropped it off, I mentioned that I need to have the Park Sensor Recall done as well (got a letter in May).

They did that, removed the lift pump off the filter & relocated it in the Tank (standard Retro-fit... I think thats how all 05 & newer one come from the factory).

When the tech walked me to the cashier, she just asked me to sign the paperwork (it said 0.00) and said have a nice day.
I'm guessing because they had to do the recall work, they didn't hassle me.

That sucks.I bought my truck at Brentwood Dodge.One of the best dealers I have ever dealt with.

 

With Brentwood, they have not made a dime in over 3 years of beening there.
Once they finish the Hwy 4 bypass (early 2008) no one will even drive by the dealer anymore.
They were for sale for close to a year, with no bites.
Rumor has its going to be a used car lot.
