Anyone else see this recall? I am still have some oil issues. I am wondering if anyone has had this done. my truck is burning oil and smokes with no controller on it at moderate pedal. I am starting to wonder if it my ECm since it claimed my truck may not pass the emmision test.

Sorry let me clarify. Yor ECM is lifetime warranty right now on the 04.5. You must have bought it used and not transfered any warranties. I will see if I can find it. But I think its only MA, ME, CA trucks because they may not pass emissions

No, I bought it new... I'll have to look at my manual... They probably have seen videos on the internet, so I ain't getting no new ECM!

I am confused. You state that YOU MUST HAVE BOUGHT IT USED.

did you mean YOU MUST HAVE BOUGHT IT NEW?

& do you mean the truck or the ECM?

 

its a special policy with some models (my 07 has it) with a lifetime warranty on the ECM only and ownership DOES NOT MATTER. weather you bought the truck new or used the ECM is covered.
