'03 throttle cutting out

my '03 throttle keeps cutting out while driving, just goes to idle, after 10-15 seconds, it will come back, and do it repeatedly. Dealer told me the apps checks out perfectly, but they want to replace it at $900, don't think so, not yet anyway, any idea's?

Does sound like the APPS. Best bet is to order one from this place. http://www.dodgecumminsapps.com/contact.html

Mine was doing similar while pulling a trailer. It turned out to be a clogged air filter.

I'm leaning toward lift pump, it's never been replaced. Just wanted to hear some other opinions before spending any $$$, thanks.

If you are still ruining the stock pump it could be it also. They are known to go out around 75.000 to 125.000 miles. If it is the Dodge dealer will want around 800.00 for the job. The Dealer does NOT have thes pumps any more But you can buy the pump at www.genosgarage.com It will cost 180.00 them shipping . I have a new one under the back seat!

Be lucky you have an 03 with an APPs problem. I'm having similar issues with my Apps but unfortunately I have the one in the fenderwell so the easy 160 buck replacement won't work. I either have to hack into the line and place a resistor or replace the apps at cost.

MikeyB is right on the money here, I replaced my APPS with Timbo's unit, and not only did it take care of the intermintent dead pedal issue, it also made my transmission shift like new again, all my TC locking and unlocking/shuttle shifting behavior... Gone!
