03 engine and trans....
Anyone know how to find out what engine block a truck has?(I hear the 53 is something to stay away from) And also does anyone have a Gorend tripple disc converter in their 03 up truck? I put one in my 95 and it was a completely different truck to drive. I wondered if they were as good for the 03.I also wanted to get the Nitto Terrea Grapper All Terrain tires size 295/70/17 for my stock rims and lift. Does this work okay or would a leveling kit be something I should do before the tires? Does anyone have these tires? how do they wear? fuel mileage? And how to reset speedo for new tire size?

You can also search for updating ECM with new tire information (rev's/mile).
In 03 there were SO's and HO's.. As far as I know both are excellent. There is a label on the side of the valve cover that tells the hp/engine info. It may also be in the glove box, not sure.
As far as the trans and tire questions, spend some time searching and reading on this forum. There are several running that brand and other brands of aftermarket trans parts.
The dealer can reprogram the ecm to correct the speedo for larger tires. You have them reset the pinion factor to the proper rpm for your size tire. That number is listed on the website typically of the tire manufacturer, and the dealer will likely charge you a half hour labor. Good luck!
