Purple Power in a spray bottle, let it sit...hit it with a pressure washer from a distance. And stay away from any powerful sprays in the direction of the intercooler, radiator, tranny cooler fins.

After that; relocate the crankcase vent and you should be clean for a while.

I like the GUNK gel it clings alot better so it stays on longer, it also smells like oranges. Then the pressure washer.
My brother swears by a engine degreaser called STEAM.

I've had great luck with Simple Green also!
No one mentioned so....don't forget to cover alternator with a plastic bag first!

The autozone stuff in the tall orange/white can - flushes white so nay-bors don't get upset - use the lower tap on your house water heater for a heated-water flush, really gets the grime off, dries quickly - max temp of about 140deg at that lower tap, so is safe for most garden hoses - dunno about cheap lawn hoses, tho - also is good flush for the sediment, calcium, lime, rust in the botton of the hot water tank

Don't even wash the engine when it's at operating temperature - that heavy mass may react to sudden surface cool-down with warps and cracks, and you'll be sorry...............

Have a question about relocateing that vent, where and how? If I start trying to do it I'll end up adding 22feet to it and running it to all the grease fittings hahah any help would be keeping me outta trouble,,
Thanks

I took about 7 ft of hose and extended it just past the wheel.
I did away with the can. Im not sure if it needs that can but with 7 ft of hose it shouldnt make that big of a difference.

I'm kinda iffy about using a pressure washer on the engine. I'm looking for someone with a steam cleaner.

Ok I give I thought the vent was that rubber tube that hangs down (drivers side, front) and gets hot oil drippings on everything the wind decides to deposit it on,, "Yikes" what is this can your refering to?

don't know if the '99s had it but the '01s have a "can" on the end of the vent tube to catch any oil drippings.
