I'll help save you the time.
04.5's went to an electronic waste gate control, upped the horse power to 325, and the injector nozzles are at a different spray angle.

The 2003 and early 2004's only had 2 injection events per combustion cycle and get a bit better mileage that the 2004.5's and later. The 3rd injection event on the 2004.5 and up was for emissions and it also turns the oil black much quicker, ( not really anything to worry about but it annoys many folks.)
However, the 03/04 were rated for a bit less HP, either 255hp for the SO motor or 305hp for the HO motor and they did not have a cat converter like the 2004.5+. Some of the 255 hp motors got the 47RE auto trans while the 305hp I think got the 48RE trans with some upgrades.
The 2004.5+ had 4 inch exhaust a bit larger turbo in stock form.
Just a couple of things that come to mind.
