Wipers won't run at all - What did I do? I just changed the clutch hydraulics
I had the truck in a warm garage yesterday and did the clutch hydraulics. Today it is out in the rain and cold and I find out I musta done something.
The wipers won't work. Nothing, no noise, no signs of movement. Where should I start to see what I knocked loose?
I moved the wiring harness a little under the hood but didn't force anything.
Things seemed to go ok up under the dash.
Any ideas as to what I may have knocked loose?

First check fuses with a test light or meter. Just eyeballing doesn't always work.
Next look at the wiring you moved.
Check out the if connector is clean and plugged in good.
Make sure none of the wires are pulled loose from the back of the connector. Sometimes they look good but you need to wiggle them to make sure.
Test out the wipers.
If that didn't fix it you might have to cut open the wire loom looking for problems.
There are splices inside the looms that sometimes come loose.

Thanks for the reply. I found the problem. I missed putting the ground wire on. I had to remove it because of a bracket I made and used that bolt to hold my isolator for the fuel pressure gauge.

Glad you found the problem. I had the same issue several years ago. Used the ground wire screw for a second ground wire. And it must have loosened up or I did not secure it well enough. In any case found out about it in a driving rainstorm a couple months later in the middle of the Navajo reservation on a trip.

Interesting.
my 99 was involved with a fender bender with a Volvo car and a 16 year old girl. she turned straight into my son driving my 99.
all repairs were done by a body shop. i picked it up last Saturday.
new left fender, new inner fender, hood, grill, bumper, brush guard, bla bla bla.
i picked it up and the washers didn't work, himmmmmm
today the wipers dont work hmmmmmmm
going out to look for a ground wire not hooked up!

i was having fun working on my 72 4WD Chevy today, i did pop the hood and look around, didn't see anything obvious.
all looks good at a real good glance, wires hooked up, but maybe your right.
I'm going to take off the cover over the wiper motor and do some tracing for a ground wire first.
It's probably a coincidence that i picked it up and the wipers failed, not blaming them yet.

i found the problem. under the left battery tray there is a few grounds, they should have replaced the wire end, it wasnt in too good of shape. they just took it off the old inner fender and put it on the new.
replace wire end, now good ground, good wipers and washers!
sad news, it was setting in the shops parking lot waiting for me to look at it and someone hit the brand new front bumper with the snow plow. and of course no one knows how the yellow paint from our freshly painted yellow plow got on my bumper.

I guess maybe the same folks that don't know anything could walk until they figure it out....AND....after they do they can walk a little more until they pay you back for the repairs. It's never too late to teach folks new ways of seeing the light.

this what it looked like when we picked it up. it got hit on that corner both times.
i pushed the bumper out and straighten out the support bracket, no scratches, but it broke off the plastic tabs that keep the plastic tight to the bumper on both black and grey plastic and scratched up the black plastic

What can happen when you have a loose ground like yours is it can turn the coolant acidic and eat the radiator and heater core though electrolysis.
Very common after an accident or funky aftermarket wiring.
Good idea to check the coolant's pH with a test strip or change the coolant after the problem is corrected.
Some auto parts sell test strips as do spa and pool supplies.
In fact Cummins even sells them.
