Winter starting?
Re:Winter starting?
I had an alarm system put in my truck that included a timer start mode for (it doesn't get cold enought here) you people that live in cold areas. You can set it to auto start every 1.5 or 3 hrs. The mode is deleted after 24 hrs or if you start your truck with the key. You can also get the Cold Start Mode which uses a temperature sensor. This will start your truck when the temp of the inside of your truck goes below your preset temp.

Well winter is just around the corner which makes me start to wonder just what I'm going to get into on those real cold days when the truck has been setting outside all day at work.
What temps can these Diesels be started at when there is no where to plug in?
Do I need to carry a can of Ether
(just kidding :-)

I have a 6bta in my chipper & it doesn't have a heater grid or a place too plug it in ever , just a good battery & every sooooo often a shot of eather - yes you can use it on your trucks too just don't forget too pull the relay for the heater grid but w/ my truck I never pluged it in nor have I used either
