Does having a modified fuel pin make starting harder in the winter?
was just wondering...
If mine sits for a day or more it's kind of hard to start and when it does get going it smokes like a chimney. I was wondering since a modified fuel pin gives the motor more fuel when the motor is not under boost, the extra fuel might be making it harder to start and run when cold.
I might go back to the stock fuel pin to see.

I haven't noticed any difference in cold starts after I installed my DennyT Stage II Fuel Pin. I would start looking for air leaks. Report back what you find.

There must be one. It fires off like a champ if I drive it every day, but if I let it sit, its hard to start and smokes like a locomotive until it warms up.

how cold are you talking? I know mine at minus -25c to -30c smokes till it warms up even plugged in and i know I don't have air leak ... mine starts without being plugged in till -20 c no prob it does sound like it has a big block cam in it , I try not to do that but if i have to i will. Are you grid heaters working ? I also see you have An asa Mod ,I noticed i get more smoke this year when starting cold since I put mine on too plus you are pushing big fuel with those sticks ,DDP 80 HP

Don't replace the block heater without making sure it's not just a bad cord. The heater cord will go bad more often than the heater itself.
