I have seen a 3rd gen bed on a 2nd gen truck before, but I am not sure what they needed to happen to bolt it on.
The body lines did not line up and it looked a little goofy as well.

I have read several thing that said it should bolt up but nobody mentioned body lines not lining up.
It make since that the body lines might not line up. Thank you for mentioning it, I will have to take a closer look at the 2006 long bed.
