so where are we suppose to get a front Alignment done at???
I have heard of frame streighting shops but want big money, no way the dealer is touching my truck. Any help would be great.

I know the average corner tire store can't do them.
These trucks are too big to fit on their machine.

Les Schwab attempted one on mine, but my tires were hanging off both sides of the machine,
and I was very nervous seeing the "kid" drive it onto the rack.

When I had my lift installed, they took it to a "truck alignment" shop.
I suppose it was one that does big trucks, like UPS or FedEx type trucks?
Perhpaps even a place that does Semi's?

I had mine done at the dealer and it didn't cost me anything but my time. Only hang up was that I had to do the work .

 

I think Sears can do the alignment, not sure though. They said something about when I had my tires rotated last time.

 

Make sure you download the alignment spec's off of Dave Frit'z site, I believe it's dodgeram.org. Have the alignment shop align it to those specs. If I remember right, it 3.2* left, 3.5* right, .3 cross caster, 0-.1 camber, I don't remember the toe spec, but make sure it's WELL inside the factory tolerances. Maybe a little more toe in if you tow alot. Factory tolerances are a pretty wide range.

 

Who ever does it make sure they don't follow the specs programmed into their computer, the tolerances they specify have too wide of a range. Print the specs here and take it with you- http://groups.google.com/groups?oi=d...m=an_584018553

I have Les Schwab do my alignment with every new set of tires, not sure if they are in Wyoming. Big advantage to Schwab is they don't charge if it doesn't need aligning. Last two times mine didn't, alignment guy said he had only run into vehicles that held their alignment a handful of times in his 12 years.

 

I had mine lined up at a tire store in Carlton, Mn. The only thing they did that I had to change was the toe-in. They had it set at 0" and the truck wandered all over the road. I put a slight amount of toe-in on it and it drives much better. Kevin, if you want the info PM me.

That is true MNtom, my 01 did the same thing when I bought it (used). I adjusted my total toe to .15 degrees and wouldn't be afraid to go to .20. Made all the difference in the world.
