Water Pump Replacement - What Brand & What Coolent

Have a 1999 Dodge CTD has less than 95K on it. I am going to replace hoses with goodyears and the thermostat with OEM. I figure I will do the water pump too even though it has no issue at this point.

Should I go OEM on the water pump or Gates or Airex?

Also what coolent -

Buying OEM is no longer a guarantee of quality. They are all made in China and put in different boxes with different part numbers once they get here. Comes down to how much you want to pay.

^^What he said.

Use the correct formulated coolant, IIRC it is Ethylene Glycol. Also Make sure it is Cummins approved, this should be stated in your owners manual. Last flush I used the Delo product at a 50/50 mix with distilled water....

Doesn't hurt to throw in a pint of water pump lube either.
