vent problem
Must be a vacuum leak somewhere. Trace the vacuum lines under the hood from the vacuum pump, up toward the firewall on the driver side, then along the firewall to where one enters the cab, close to where the A/C lines enter. One also drops down from the firewall tee and runs to the top of the transfer case, the, forward to the front axle disconnect.
i guess i'll have to start chasin hose;s, the scary part is the part about under the dash, i found out it is a dash cap not a dash, trying to find the inner dash, a piece fell off in my hand the other day, seems like the dash and bezel ain;t to hard to find, thanks for ya'lls help
Over on the passenger side where the AC lines go through the firewall is the small black plastic vacuum line that feeds ALL the HVAC plenum except the temp control which is electric, first check you have vacuum there.
Bigwayne, a couple of weeks ago I had to chase a vacuum leak and I was surprised at how simple our vacuum system is. Lets start at the beginning of the system. The vacuum pump is attached to the Hydroboost pump (where you put power steering fluid). From there a small black line goes to the cruise control actuator under the driver side battery. Then the line comes out of the cruise control and goes up to a splitter that is by the firewall more or less in front of the steering wheel. out of the splitter there are 3 lines. One goes into the firewall over by where the glovebox is, another goes through the firewall by where you hvac vent controls are and the final line goes down towards the transmission and runs the CAD 4wd actuator. Unlike a gas vehicle that runs darn near everything off the vacuum, our trucks have a surprisingly simple vacuum system.
tallguy67 you are the bomb!!!!!! i got cold air comin out my vents, still need to replace the little rubber elbows that connect the plastic vac lines, but it works, thank you!!!!!!!!!! now if i can get this center link worked out, i'll be alittle closer getting everything workin

Found my issue, just as the two vac lines meet the firewall, there are also some in line T fittings which have caps. One of the caps came off...I placed a new cap on and glued the outside. All blowing ice cold from the vents. Start from the source/vac pump and work thru the lines for cracks, missings caps, broken T fittings, little rubber connectors...all the way thru. Good luck.
