Trans temp gauge

Where can I get a good temp gauge for my tranny? Are they hard to install? Don't want to trust idiot light too far!

Re:Trans temp gauge

I use Auto meter, purch. from Summit Racing 2 and 5/8 dia. white face. Mounted on trany. floor hump. Made my own brk. to hold it. Bought aluminum pan from PLM Inc. in Inglewood, Calif. Holds two more qt's. Pick up sensor goes in pan. I dr. and taped my own and put hole very close to the discharge oil line. Ground wire you can attach to metal under air bag sensor cover also on the trany hump. Wire for the light, some people tie into the ash tray light wire or go to the fuse box and tie into the dash light fuse, that way it will dim with your dash lights. I went to the fuse box cause I tied my hot wire there also. If you put an aluminum pan on you need to purch. a new flat gasket, like cork or rubber. Hope this will maybe be of some help.

I to would recomend the AUTOMETER line of gages, they are the best. Also SUMMIT RACING is a wonderful place to do business, great prices, fast service.

Re:Trans temp gauge

I'm using Isspro EV series gauges to monitor the critical stuff.
Easy to read both day and night.

Re:Trans temp gauge

I picked up all my AutoMeteres from E-Gauges I have the sport-comp series. I would also recommend the replacement line from Dodge that is already tapped for a temp sensor from the tranny. This will give you the best/most accurate reading of just how hot your fluid is! Unfortunately I don't have the part number handy... :-[

Re:Trans temp gauge

While you are at it, it would be a good time to install pre-turbo pyro and boost gauges. I got mine from West Texas Turbo Diesel. http://dot-westtexasturbodiesel.com-....com/INDEX.htm Chase Aldridge is a great guy to busness with. I got everthing I needed in one package. Mounted all 3 on the pillar.
