Is there a upgraded track bar?

The trackbar on my 96 2500 4x4 is shot, well it lasted 100k so I don't feel too bad. I was a member of the dieselram.com site, but can't access it anymore. At one time on that site they were talking about putting an adaptor plate on the fame and then adding a trackbar from a newer truck on. Is there something like this still available and where can I get it

Bob

When mine failed over a decade ago I replaced it with a lifetime warrantied bar from Napa. It's been replaced for free, no question, three times in the past 350k miles.
Only takes five minutes to swap in a new one.

I would have gone this route if they would have existed back then> http://lukeslink.com/
Installed many for other folks, they last.

Moog uses a larger balljoint on the track bar, and in my experience it holds up a LOT better than the stock one. Still a bad design though. Balljoints like this are designed to take load laterally, or pulling on stud. The angle of the balljoint on the trackbar makes it take load vertically which smashes the rubber puck that puts tension on the stud ball inside the joint and beats it to death.

Luke's links can "rebuild" it.
