I'd definitely go with an aftermarket unit. FAR SUPERIOR!.
I'd stay away from the Sony stuff, I like Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood.
I'm using a 200W Kenwood head unit (with the motorised face) with a 400w Pionner amp driving 10" Pionner sub.
fantastic sound

Thanks for all the ideas..
The offer for the infinity setup is much appreciated. Since we are the same in lattitude, it is a definite alternative..
The aftermarket is soo flooded with units, its hard to choose. I was looking at a JVC unit here the other day.. Nice...

I just got done putting in a Pioneer DEH P6600 and love it!!!!! It has a very cool screen and was a breeze to install. I got it from Crutchfield with the wiring harness and adaptor plate for 250.00. I was really afraid it was gonna look bad going from a din&1/2 to a 1 din but it looks pretty god. Only a small amount of extra plastic showing. I have had Sony and Pioneers and like them both. I pulled the Sony out of my old 78 ford and it now is in my camp trailer.
Best bet is to just find the one you like the best and go for it
