Seat belt Light

Driver's side seat belt, the light on the dash goes on and off while I'm driving with the belt engaged. If I pull on it slightly it goes off for a second, then back on. Should I just put some contact cleaner in the receptacle where the belt goes, or tear it all apart? Anyone had this? I've tried jumpering the plug on the belt but the light stayed on, jumped or not.

you can try cleaning the contacts but it can also be that the connection piece when putting in the seat belt latch could be worn out. I too have the issue mine started the same time as my passenger window swith on the driver side started to not go down but only up. I'm tempted to just pull the dash and remove the bulb in the dash that is not hard to do. Out of sight out of mind.

Check the electrical connector under the seat. The wife's '06 was doing the same thing, sometimes it would flicker, sometimes it would just stay on. It was corroded, so I cleaned it up and used some di-electric grease on it. Problem solved.

Will do, I expect certain things with a 13 year old truck and don't really need the light as I always wear my belt, so now I have a few plans of attack. Thanks!

Mine was acting up around 65K IIRC. the dealer sprayed some lube in the latch and it went away for a while then came back.

replace the latch.....

Anyone know the part number for the tan latch? I've been hunting online but no one seems to have accurate pictures to ensure I get the right part? Thanks for anyone that can provide it!

Edit: Never mind I found it through some ninja web searching: 5GT65RK5AD if you have the Tan interior (called camel) for anyone that may need one.

I was thinkin that if they still make them and you will keep your truck as long as I plan on keeping mine, I could buy the other one from you if I needed one!
