Running Boards

My wife is not able to get into my truck without running boards. I am thinking of the aluminum diamond boards. Idon't think I want the "tubes". Any recommendations?

Re:Running Boards

I have the MOPAR. Color coded for the truck, fit is perfect and installation was simple. They are molded and keep rocks and alot of the road spray off the sides of the truck. My wife likes them. ;D

I put a set of Dee Zee guardians on mine. They are bright aluminum with Black trim. They have a black mudflap in the front and a seal strip between the cab and the running board. Made for specific models. fit nice look good and very solid.

Re:Running Boards

I have the Deflectashield brite diamond plate full length boards on my truck. They come with diamond plate flaps for the front and rear of the boards. I like them alot and they look great but the directions suck and are very confusing! I ended up not using them and just figuring it all out myself.

I have the diamond plate running boards on my truck. I wish I had the fibreglass ones with the colour matched.

Re:Running Boards

I have the Lund fiberglass running boards. I think they look good and belong on the truck. The only problem is that one fo them cracked on me this winter when it was real cold. Adios. 8)

Re:Running Boards

I had the dealer put the aluminum ones on mine. You can see them on page 2 of the member photos section under dieseldude4x4's pics and hobbies and on page 22 under NC DTR meeting.

Re:Running Boards

I installed a set of Lund's Runner Steps on my 2500 4x4.
The step is lower than a running board, and can be painted to match the truck. They are very strong, and not that hard to install. Paid about $160.00 from Summit Racing Equipment.
Just my .02
Rich

Re:Running Boards

I put the Kodiak Sidewinders on mine. I think they look much better than running boards and provide easier entry, too. Now everyone can get into my truck, from my 7 yearold to my mother.

Re:Running Boards

Check out the stainless steel boards at www.J-Jent.com They have a 'top plate' that keeps the stones from sandblasting the bottom of your front doors. They are pricy, but do protect the side of the truck. I'm not a fan of running boards, but had to go that route with a white truck in Michigan.

Re:Running Boards

I have Dee-Zee "diamond plate" aluminum boards on mine. I personally like the aluminum versions as they have a built in front mud flap to keep the rocker panels clean(er). Whatever you go with, make sure it is a decent brand. Nothing worse than having the Mrs. step up and have the boards flip down. :-[

CalRed,
Check out www.genosgarage.com they have the Kodiak sidewinders. These steps come down when you open the door and then go back up when you close the door. Geno's has the best price that I have found for these. If nothing else these steps will get a lot of compliments.
