Quick way to change heatrer core(2-3hours)

3+ years for me....thanks again cLAYH
The antifreeze smell finally left.
If I have to replace it again, I'll spray some windex down there then vacuum and wipe it out with paper towels and see how that works.

The biggest bonus to this method is that you don't have to drain the AC system which isn't an option for most DIYers. At least not properly.

I used a core with the rotating tubes. Was able to get it in by just loosening the box and moving it back a little.

Through Amazon. All they had locally where non rotating and very expensive.

Is this possible on the 3G rams? I need to put in a new core and was thinking I could possibly cut the box and the do what you guys did and cut out the old core and splice in the new one. I'm ok with cutting the box and just taping the plastic back together. Let me know if you guys think something like this would work. Thanks

Hey guys new to the forum. I attempted to replace my heater core today but was unable to get the dash out. I think I'm missing something since it feels it is catching somewhere near the steering column. I lowered the steering wheel (removed 4 nuts) letting it go to the floor. Seen where people only remove two. Not sure if I over did it there. Removed the 3 bolts on both driver and passenger side, 2 bolts on center console near floor, 4 screws on top of dash, and the 2 bolts on top of dash last. I could fairly easily move the passenger side a couple of inches but when trying to lift or pull the drives side it felt as it where still connected somewhere. Can someone point out what I'm missing? Thanks for the help.
