Power seat

One of the electric motors in my power seat quit working and Dodge wants $500 for the complete assembly. I wouldn't worry so much about it but, its down all the way in the back and I must use a pillow to sit on.

Anyone have any suggestion, or someplace I might purchase a used assembly?

Thanks

Re:Power seat

I too am interested in hearing responses to this thread..... My power seat motor has been out for over a year, and I refuse to pay the outrageous sum to replace it! :'( :'(

Re:Power seat

Well a little update.........

I found that my extended warranty (which I have 150 miles remaining) will pay for this. The total cost is $713.75 of which my deductable is $50.

I told them I want the old part, as I think I can fix and have as a backup.

These sure are expensive, but the guy at Dodge said few are made because they rarely go bad.

Sorry, I know this didn't help you DEZLPWR.

Re:Power seat

Are you positive that it is the motor that is burned out and not just the switch assembly ?

My switch burned out and I couldn't move the seat forward.

About $50 - $60.00 and I could reach the pedals again.

PISTOL

Re:Power seat

Pistol, its Getting 12V to the motor thru the switch, and even the dealer says the motor shorted out. They still don't have the seat track assembly in and since its coming from the MFG they aren't positive when it'll be here.

Seems Dodge don't stock the part. :'(

If anyone's interested, the Part# is 5010175AB, and its called a seat track.
