AC heads up
AC heads up
Cattle Hauler and I have recently had the same problem with the AC line. Below the oil filter the line has rubbed right above the T
and made a hole in the line. Releasing the freeon!! When we got the new hose, the smae place now has a plastic cover protecting this part. So check it out.

Just a heads up for you to think about. How many others have had this problem? :
Re:AC heads up
It happened on one of my 95's. Chaffed through up front where the two lines come close to each other by the condensor. I checked my daughters truck and it seems okay.
Re:AC heads up
Good to hear. They new this was a bad design after a few trucks came in. Wonder why they werent recalled
so the problem would be fixed by the company.
Re:AC heads up
NHTSA mandates recalls for potentially deadly safety issues. They probably don't consider AC a necessity but probably never have to sit in traffic on a 100+ degree day without AC, either. :

Besides, the dealer makes his 33% or better profit on the replacement AC line - something called planned obsolesence at work. >

Otherwise, how would them penquins get a suntan?

Re:AC heads up
Wow thats hot. They probably never sat in traffic with a pregnant woman before who is hormonally crazy.

Well its fixed now. 70.00 and a buddy who charged the lines later, I am happy.
Re:AC heads up
Hired Gun,
A black truck in 60 degree weather is hot enough. But add the hormonally crazed woman without AC and it would be enough to become a deadly safety issue for somebody

Been there, done that - gotta give up my truck for her comfort until I figure out how to make her Jaguar AC work correctly.

Of course, this gives me an excuse to hang that nice large AC window unit I was given in the shop so I can work under the Jaguar dash in a little more comfort. ;D

Re:AC heads up
Hey, I just went out and looked at my 97. Not sure if it's the same as your 99, I did not see anything touching the metal portion of the line. Did notice the rubber part laying on the frame (it had a soft metalized sleeve/cover on it). If I flollow the line closer to the compressor on the metal portion of the line I noticed a sensor (a/c pressure sensor?) rubbing against the rubber union on my turbo to intercooler tube. This is the only "T" I can see. Any other landmarks or is mine a little different than yours? Thanks, Kevin
Thats the piece. I am bad with terminology, but thats it. I guess the expansion or something caused the line to rub a hole in it.

As far as AC shops, it must be nice!!!
