Possible cracked dash fix (once and for all!)
So my dash in my 01.5 is cracking up in a few spots.. I thought about getting a spare dash from a junkyard and then fiberglass matting over it and epoxy it up so it would be super hard and never crack again then paint to match.. Today I came upto this Dashcap on ebay.
"Glues right onto the old dash" sounds kinda ghetto, but its cheap and it might just do the trick eh?
Unless your dash is a minefield and there is no place to glue the dashcap onto

The factory dash cover replacement from Dodge could end up being cheaper because of the $45 shipping the guy is charging...also you will get the correct color from Dodge. I replaced my as few weeks ago with the factory unit and my interior looks brand new.

I was wondering if I was the only one having problems with my dash! I have a 2001 that has a hole in the dash big enough to drop a basketball through!
However, I have a replacement dash on the way and I will be putting some sort of dash cover on it when it gets installed.

The upper is attached to the lower along that long horiz seam - bunch of phillips screws.
Drop the steering column, loosen the two nuts on either door frame, remove inst cluster, remove 6-7 screws at windshield, rotate the inst panel out and down toward the seats, apply some elbow grease.
Note - having some acrobatic skills will help.........................

The dash itself does NOT have to be removed. Dodge's retail price on the factory cover is $194...I paid $153 for mine...others have reported here of paying as little as $120. Also it will be the correct color for your interior..no painting. Install time along with cleaning off all fingerprints, and general interior detailing was about 3 hours.

I ordered the same one on ebay. I hope its a perfect fit. I havent recieved it yet. My truck has always been well taken care of, and had 11 different cracks, and not far from having a hole. I just super glued up all the cracks for now, untill the dash cap comes in.

Correct - don't remove it, just rotate it out and down on the pivot points at the door frame.
