The small amount of black base coat you would need will be much less than the two decals. You are using base/clear to paint this truck correct ??? If you have any questions just ask .

By the way, if you do a Google search on "Kowalski parts", you will find a site where Chryco demanded be taken down, the nice feller complied and left the page up as a legacy.

If you happen to click on the 99 Ram parts link, who knows what might happen?

Hope that helps.
Will do, thanks man.

I had a spot on the door where the paint cracked. Looks like the door was sprayed with oil on the door latch by the previous owner. I've learned over the years that If I would leave the spot & keep going to the next panel, I would wish I hadn't later. If you start half arsed, you end up with a half arsed job. I sanded the spot to bare metal & started over. I laid down 2 coats of epoxy primer, then 2 coats of urethane & here it is.

Yes take your time and perfect your work in the primer stage the top coat (base/clear) will greatly magnify all errors/imperfections.

i went and looked at my truck at the body shop friday and i think that it looks better without the black decal, you might think differant but paint it and check it out you might like it without the decal. are you putting any type of rock guard on the bottom of your truck? i just put four new doors on mine and am having the whole thing painted it has been over six weeks now, i wish i had done it myself but oh well good luck.

I bought 2 rust free southern doors. The door I repaired got hail damaged. I figured, why bother fixing a door that was already repaired.? I'm putting alot of money in my rig, not gonna mess around.

i am in the same boat that you are in, i just spent a wad on new doors paint and other goodies but man does it look good as soon as i get it back i will post some pics of it. i figure that it is better to get my truck i better shape than it is to buy a new one, plus you see more 3rd gens than second gen anymore, at least around here anyways.

Cool keep us updated on the paint. I think the new color will look awesome on your truck. Even though that cell phone is probably a little too much. lol
