Overhead console removal
Overhead console removal
-this is not a "down truck" situation, but....
My overhead console took quite a beating during hunting season, to include destruction of the sunglass holder, a broken light switch, and shattered glass lens; I found and purchased the parts online, now -how does the console come out? It looks like it may just be tabbed in, but given how FLIMSY the thing is, I don't want to just start prying on it - anybody know how to pull it?
Thx / Rauschbo

Remove the two screws and "gently" slide the whole thing to the back of the truck, it should just "pop"right out. If it doesn't, slide it to the front. It is in a slot and either the front or rear "opens" up a bit to let the clips come down.
Rauschbo,
I noticed on mine that they are 2 clips. I haven't investigated further.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you find your parts. I have a broken lense and the sunglass & door opener compartments are about to bite the dust.
TIA

dodgeparts.com - they have EVERYTHING, it's a bit messy doing the search, but with a little patience, you can find it - the exact page for the OH console is in the "OEM catalog" section,
https://www.trademotion.com/partloca...99&catalogid=2
- note that the parent site redirects you to "trademotion".
Just be patient when searching the site - they have everything, but hide it pretty well!
