I have a 1994 4x4 ctd std cab with a five sp. and it is noisy in the cab. I know diesels are noisy engines, I am a farmer and all of our tractors are diesels. However, most of the others I have rode in have been quieter. I still have the insulation on the firewall and I checked the manifold bolts, all tight. help if you can.

 

I have been told that when the valves and pump timing need to be adjusted that the engine will be louder. My bro-in-law needs an overflow valve in his and it is louder than mine, and smokes more also. The overflow valve is a cheap easy thing to replace Infidel can tell you where to get the best price on it..
