I have a 1998 24 valve ctd and i have no heat. What would you think it is. I have replaced my radiator cap and am looking at the Thermo. what do you think it is? thanks mike

 

Your problem could also be the heater core. I just replaced the heater core in my '96 and it fixed my problem 100%. I had no heat, and alot of moisture on the windshield when I was trying to defrost, which was probably leaking anti-freeze. Mine was leaking in a few places. Was not a fun job to do, hope it isn't that!

i have mine narrowed down to the thermo. my engine temp never rises,iv've been putting a peice of cardboard in between the radiator and the intercooler so it will warm up.

 

This might seem pretty dumb, but is your radiator full? We always have a bunch of people that come in this time of year because they dont have any heat. Most of them are just low on coolant. I just fill them up, bleed all the air out and send them on their way.

 

Did you do any work to your rig?
When I had my A/C fixed (replace the condensor/core) they forgot to replace the connection to the engine coolant valve so no hotness into the cab.
Here's a trick I use to warm up my engine for the short hop to work...A piece of vinyl soffeting between radiator and intercooler. Because it's relatively soft there is no risk to the radiator and the built in hook for connecting two pieces together makes a nifty way of keeping it in place. only one piece gives plenty of airflow restriction but not too much.

 

On my 95 the mixer **** {one below fan control} was stripped out, the metal insert that rides on the half moon shaft had broken out of its groove. Easy fix, a little super glue untill I make it to a wrecking yard. Just trying to help you not overlook the easy stuff. --- Regards Ray

 

I have alot of coolant. that was the first thing that i looked at...lol

 

Fast and easy way is to grab your heater hoses to see if you have any heat going thru them. If you don't(or very little) thermostat is probably stuck open, if you do it could be heat control **** stripped, and stuck on cold temp setting.
