new to forum need help

Hi everyone, i am new to this group and my truck. I need help..
My 98 24v 2500 4x4 has weird brakes. My drums r locking up and my pedal feels
like there is no assist at first then all of a sudden my head is hitting the steering wheel.
I replaced my steering box and most of the linkage bled it but now that its cold my steering is getting hard when the engine is at 180. I replaced the steering fluid with what it came withfrom factory(amber). I live in canada and its hard to park . Reving it seems to help.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks

sounds like your power steering pump is bad or hydra boost as for your drums ..have you looked at the linings and are they adjusted right?

new to thread

Thanks for setting me in right direction. I took it to my mechanic this morning,
he adjusted the drums and told me i need new linings in back. Also a hydra boost is in my very near future. Thank you very much. Oh can they rebuild hydraboost or just get new?

Use synthetic fluid when you replace your hydroboost. Synthetic works better than dino in cold weather. Make sure front wheels are up in the air when you bleed the hydroboost or you may take out your steering box. Make sure entire hydroboost system is good or you will be wasting synthetic fluid. Steering box, pump, hydroboost all need to be good. Add as steering brace if you do the box.

Me too.
Price for rebuilt at the autoparts isn't bad at all but you may have to return several of them before you get one that works.
Craftsmanship of new and rebuilt parts nowdays sucks.

I notice that you are in Ontario, there is a place called prime choice auto, that ships parts in canada (free shipping for most parts) that are reasonable, They seem to only carry a limited selection,
hubs/alternators/rotors/ brakes etc
I bought rotors and pads for my Highlander from them and the price was 1/2 of what local would have been,
something to keep in mind if your looking for parts
