New Dash...Finally

I finally ordered a new dash and bezel tonight for my 02. The factory one started cracking a couple years ago and last summer it cracked really bad so it's time for a new one. I ended up ordering a new replacement dash and bezel from LMC Truck. It was alot cheaper than buying from the dealer. This post really has no point, i'm just happy that i'll have a crack and hole free dash soon!

My 01.5 started cracking from the windshield vent up towards the front of the dash, about 2 inches. Suppose it won't be long before it gets worse.

Sounds about how mine started. On the ATV fenders we drill a small hole at the end of a crack to relieve the stress point and stop it from spreading. It works like a charm there but didn't even slow the one on my dash down.

I was looking at LMC online, and the 'Dash Cover' they sell appears to be a molded piece that you place ON TOP of the original (cracked) dash. Do they sell a real no-kidding replacement dash as well? My '01 dash is cracked from front to back, the '99 is still fine. Go figure.

I'm pretty sure they have a full replacement as well.

There were several years in the late '90s and early 2000s that had problems with stress cracking of the dash. My '99 24v had several, it was a bad design/mounting issue. I did find out though, if you were the original owner of the truck, you could write a letter to Dodge and they would foot the cost of a revised factory dash, you just paid labor to have it put in. I did this and my total cost from the Dealership was $300 labor. After 7 years the new dash is still good!

Yes they sell a replacement dash, mine was sitting on the porch when I got home this afternoon. I installed it tonight along with a new bezel, took me a little under 3 hours to remove the old and install the new dash. I took my time with the job. The old one fell apart while i was taking it out.

The new LMC dash/bezel has a nice fit and finish and seems to be of a good quality. The dash replacement was alot easier than I thought i was gonna be. The color of the new dash is a pretty close match to the factory dash.

The "complete" dash is very nice. I did mine when I had to do the heater core. Figured since the whole dash was removed to get to the HVAC box, it was the best time to tackle the job. Fit & finish is excellent and everything lined up perfectly.

Does LMC sell a new gauge bezel? Not the stick on cover but the complete black gauge surround bezel?
