need help CD player?

I have a 1998.5 quad cab. My problem is that I have just installed a pioneer CD player in place of my stock CD player and now my front speakers do not work. The rears still work fine but the fronts are dead. When I bought the truck it had tweeters in the pillars, but I didn't know if they were original "premium sound" or if they were installed by the previous owner. I had always thought the premuim sound said Infifnity on the cd player. Anyways has anyone else had this problem. Does my truck have a stock amp or crossover somewhere that is causing my troubles. Just curios before I look into this farther and waste my time. Thank you.

I am not sure about the tweeters, but it all should be infinity, by the way, you want to get rid of the stocker radio? I need one.

I went through all this last week. You are going to have to buy new front speakers and rewire them. Mine didnt say infinity anywhere till I took the pillar off and there was a tab on the tweeter.

try hooking up the power antenna wire it triggers the factory amp and turns it on

be sure to use the remote on wire on the poineer and not the power antenna on or you'll only have the factory amp turned on when the radio is in use

wiring diagram is on page 6

What he said ....

I installed an Alpine HU and it sounded great with the Radio on, but horrible with it off. The Alpine has a power antenna lead that only turns on with the radio, and also a remote turn on lead for amps that is on whenever the HU is on. This is the one that must be hooked to the Harness/Adapter.

I only ran that setup for a while as one of my factory amps went out. I recently replaced the front speakers and rewired the whole car, it was kinda a pain, but I like that stuff...

Thanks guys that was all that I needed the pioneer is working great. I just made a little jumper off of my accesory wire. The stock strereo sounds pretty decent when you have a good head unit powering it. Hooray now I can listen to my CDR's.

same here....

when I got the truck with the infinity system none of my burnt cds would play in the CD player...I have a large colection of MP3's so I wanted an MP3 playing head unit...went out and bought one and installed it, wouldn't work....called the service tech for the head unit and they told me to hook up the remote to the "amp" wire for the truck...

works like a charm...
