Talking

I did the same thing, There is a amp under the dash. I left that there and installed all new amps and new speakers. I put the pioneer 5 way 6x9 in front and the pioneer 4 wat 6 1/4 in the back with a 12" sub under the driver side back seat. What a BIG diff. The stock infinity speakers were crap compared to this. I don't think you can hook it up to the stock wiring harness a friend tried to have best buy do it and they said it would not work. Not sure why. I also trimend my dash in for the deck it is a double din then I had it linexed. It looks great.

Get the dash bezel for the OEM NAVI unit, makes the install look a lot cleaner and you won't have to cut anything.

I dunno...my truck is an '07.
If they offered NAVI in your '04, then you can get the OEM bezel. If not, then you'll have to find another solution.

The dash in the earlier truck is completely different and it's the same piece for all the stereos including the NAV unit. I know of a guy that modifies stock dash pieces to accommodate the Double Din stereos and sells them. PM me if you want his info.

go with pioneer they make a great product. The stock speakers and amp I dont think will work with the new deck.I ran all new wires to each speaker from my new amps. I have a rockford fosgate 300 watt 4 way amp for my door speakers and a rockford fosgate 150 watt amp for my 12" sub. that is also a rockford fosgate punch

I did not use any of the stock wiring except for the power wires. you will need the antenna adapter.
