I'm actually thinking since I'm not completely dumb (i have rebuilt an engine before) I can try body work. This would be perfect, considering it is on a flat surface, and I could just get it repainted.

Found a blue tailgate (not dually though) for $50. Has no dents just some scratches, is it worth it? Or just fix mine?

ya it's worth it. then bring it to me and i can get it painted for you pretty reasonable. will need to bring it to vancouver, wa. though.
