I need lift

I need lift
I have a 94 2500 4x4 diesel reg cab long box and I'm looking to put 38" tires on. From what I've gathered I'll need at least 7" of lift. I've found some reasonably priced 4.5" suspension lifts but all the body lifts I've found say that they do not fit the diesel. Is there that big of a difference that it won't work or is there a body lift kit that will fit my truck? I'm looking for about a 3" body lift. I'd rather not have to pay the $4000 for the skyjacker kit if I can get away with $1200 for the suspension and body lifts.

No expert but I remember hearin people say that even though some body spacer kits say they dont fit the diesels they do any way. others should know for sure.
but if it were up to me i would go with a all suspension lift, easyer to install and better performance, just my .02.

I dont know what your budget is but this place has the fabtech 5.5 lift for alittle more then the skyjacker 4.5 + they have their own 5 inch for only $900
if big red can fit 37s with a 2 inch spacer then 5, 5.5 should give enough room, wish someone with a lift and 38s would come in here and help you .

Yeah sorry my post wasnt very much help. Honestly i think that 4.5" of lift should be plenty. I second the all suspension lift. I have heard bad things about body lifts.

A friend of mine put a PA body lift on his that was suposed to be for the diesel but didnt have anything more than a body lift for a gasser. He cleared 35" Toyo M/T with that and 2" spacers but the body lift was bad news. The rear body mounts on the cab got major spider web cracks and even with loctite all but 2 pucks on the beds rattled out. I'd be be driving down back roads and find body lift pucks just sitting there in the road. He finally took the body lift off sold his toyos and got 3rd gen rims
