: Could be BS ha ha. My 99 Dakota did not have one in the hood. Guess I was lucky my motor never caught fire. No worry now with my diesel.

I heard that if the hood blanket drops on the turbo, it catches on fire and causes a serious fire. Don't let it dangle. You need reliable clips even if you don;t buy the pricy dodge stuff.
