Fuel Filler Neck ?'s

We'll it looks as if my filler necks finally rusted through. Does anyone have a part number or know where there is a scematic or fich-finder for dodge rams? Its a 1998 12Valve 4x4 quad cab long bed. I beleive its a 35 gallon tank? Not sure on that one though. Every dodge parts dept. takes them atleast 15 mins to look up a part for me, so I figured if I can call in with a part number it would be a little quicker. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

You're not going to want one there!

Not unless you mind parting with $184 big ones!

If you are good with a mig, can't see why you cant splice in a piece of 1" EMT. Especially if you know an electrician or have a bender. It's about a 45* bend. You can buy 90* sweeps but not sure about 45's.

There is a little ball in there that prevents fuel spills in a roll over. You could just eliminate it.

I had to replace a stepped filler tube with some weired angles on an old Landrover that was part rubber and steel. I went to a muffler shop and told them what I wanted, they fabricated one for $30.

Try calling around to your local boneyards, getting the diesel one might be tough, but it's worth a shot.

That muffler shop setup is the best idea of all, IMO.
When mine rotted out I used a flexible radiator hose in its place. Just cut out the rollover valve and relocate it above the rust. secure it with a hammer and punch.

I bought mine off this site. I didn't feel like screwing with hunting/scavenging or custom stuff. It is ~$142 plus shipping. The fit was great.

How is it holding up? Radiator hose is not diesel proof.... (or Gasoline proof)

been on there for 8 months so far no problems. Eventually it might harden but it was cheap enough its not a big deal
I like that idea of exhaust tubing though.. thats the best solution on the cheap.

No one bends thin wall pipe like a muffler shop and they have expanders to change the size and can weld that thin wall like its going out of style.
