Rust in fuel filler neck
Went to fill up today and the sun was shining right down the filler neck. Right before I went to put the nozzle in I noticed that there was rust in the first segment of the filler neck right before in narrows down. Anyone else notice this? Bet my lift pump loves the extra iron in it's diet

And do you believe some folks dump used oil into their tanks? I can tell you don't! It would not have rusted!
If you keep your tank full you won't have as much condensation on the filler neck. Just a thought.

that doesn't look like a big deal to me. i've seen a lot of filler necks that look like that. you could clean it up if you wanted and coat it with something like cold galvanize ( read the label to make sure it would be compatible) and get on with your life. just my $.02. later

Mine rusted THROUGH. I was filling the tank one day when I noticed some fuel dripping. Fixed it by buying marine fuel line and patching the rusted area. My point is look uder the truck and if its rusting on the outside like mine did, put some oil or something on it to slow it down, also fill your tube up to rust proof the inside with diesel. just my .002
