font end clunk

At low speeds, I can feel this like clunking kind of looseness in the front end.
Sometimes when going around corners at low speeds or when first starting or stopping. It is almost like some kind of bal joint or tie rod is loose, The wheel feels tight but there is still this clunking somewhere in the line.

One mechanic tightend up my steering box and claimed it was fixed. Then I brought it into another place for an alignment a little after that, and they didnt notice anything.

An auto parts guy I told about it said maybe I need a steering damer.

I dont know?

On an unrelated issue, the thing still bounces like a motherf&$% on the highway, even with shocks replaced, maybe it is just the design of the vehicle. I can hardly read the display on my celphone, lol.

It could be the steering column bushing. I've been contemplating getting one myself as I too have a clunk and slight looseness feeling sometimes when braking/turning.

Here's the link to an upgraded bushing. They say it takes about 2 hours to install.

Clunking and replacement shocks means the bottom shocks mounts are most likely loose.

These have gotta be tight! It could be several other things, but shock mounts are the most common point here.

I agree on the shock bolts. Put the biggest, baddest impact on it and let her have it.

My clunk came from a worn track bar.

My clunk was a upper ball joint.
I have changed 3 uppers and 1 lower in 355,000 miles.

My clunk was control arm bushings. Have someone engauge drive/reverse to see if the axle rotates front/back. Stock replacements are about $125 and they won't fit skyjacker aftermarket control arms as I found out.
