Factory brake controller connection

I am getting ready to install a brake controller in my 96 2500. It never had one installed but does have the factory tow package. The owners manual says there is a connection for an aftermarket controller to be plugged into under the dash. Can't see it anywhere under there. Can someone tell me what it looks like our post a picture of it?

Look under the dash near where the harness passes through the firewall.
It should be a multi-plug that looks kinda like this.

I haven't seen a connector on a 12 valve but rather a bundle of wires in the upper parking brake area labeled trailer.
Beware when hooking the controller up.
Most controllers have the same colored wires as you'll find under the dash but only a couple of the same colors need to be connected to the same color.
Makes it confusing and a wiring diagram necessary.

I did alot of research on this 6 months ago when I added my controler, in 1994 and 1995 dodge only had one blue wire. In 1996 they added a inline 4 plug labled trailer controler. its just above the pict shovelhead posted.

Great, I will look for that connector. Is that inline 4 plug capable of just being plugged into a standard connection on new brake controllers being sold today? Is there any additional wiring that needs to be done to make the required connections to it or is it just plug and go with that plug added in 1996?

I looked everywhere in that area and do not see any plug labeled trailer. In fact, I do not see the same bundle in the photo that shovelhead posted. Attached are 2 photos under my dash. What am I missing?

Never could find it under there. Probably is there but just too blind to see it.

You may want to see if your truck came with the tow package.

I am not sure the trailer pre-wiring was included without it.....

Yes, it came with the factory tow package. Original owner bought it with that but never had a need for a controller.

Is that the actual plug on your truck?
