dual to single

Hi guys new here I have an '01 3500 CTD dually I was seriously considering switching to a single wheel. Would just like some suggestions and has anyone here done that I heard I only need to switch the front end hubs and rotors. Thanks for all input.

That looks pretty sweet. But here's my question: at this point, what really is the difference between your 3500 (that now looks like a 2500) and my 2500 from the factory? I thought the axles were the same between a heavy duty 2500 and a 3500 with the exception of the dual wheel feature? Or is your 3500 single wheel still rated to tow/haul more than my 2500?

Just curious, 'cause I thought the only difference was the duallies.

Just unbolt the dual wheel adapter on the front, quick and simple. Dually rear axle on 2nd gen's have a little width difference from single wheel but i beleive its less than 3/4", nothing to worry about also. I've gone from single to dual but swapped axles to go to a dana 80.

the rear axle is wider period i have done this you have to swap it out i swapped to a dana 80 from a 96 5spd . all you have to do in the front is remove the spacers and the factory aluminum wheels fits. the truck does loose some weight towing because the 2 extra wheel are gone. she is taller and looks better than a 2500 in my opinion. im running 315 and i love it
