Which dana axle do i have?

Not sure if this counts as drivetrain or not but.. in my manual i see that i have a Dana 60f front axle, but it doesnt spesify if i have the 70 or 80 in the rear, I'd assume one is for 3/4 and the other is for 1 ton, but which is which?

There is a tag on the diff that will tell you if its a 70 or 80...You could really tell the diffference between the two...The 80 is a huge rear end..

Yup, Dana 70 Power-Lok (if Limited Slip). The manuals had Dana 80's but were Trac Lok type LSD.
The Pwr-Lok is prefered by most and the Dana 70 is a stout, quality rear axle.
The 70 handles almost anything we can throw at them..... except for serious repetative Sled Pulling.

If interested in an original factory equipt list you can take your Vin # to a Dodge Parts Dept and request a 'Build Sheet'. Should be free.

As the others have said, if it's an auto you have a Dana 70. 5spds have the Dana 80.

All 1st Gens regardless of tranny had a Dana 70 rear.

Dually's also came with the Dana 80 running either Auto and Manual transmissions. I can see that your truck is not a Dually, but just for your information

The D80 can be had with a Plok from the factory. I had one. It is a coin toss on which LSD you could of had in an OEM D80, though. Just wanted to point out they could have come with either one.

Thanks, Your 98.5, right? Sounds like a few were still left over. Bet there were no D-80 Pwr-Lok's in 99... or later.
I'm not a purist, and suspect the Trac-Lok is more than fine (if plates are restacked) for our members needs.
But I know of no maintenence problems with the Pwr-Lok.... and it is a beautiful and sophisticated system! Maybe just got priced out of existance?
