Crappy dash

I have an 01 dodge that I bought used a few years ago and the plastic dash has cracked everywhere and gets worse everyday. Has anyone else ran into this problem with theirs? Thanks

Mine had holes cracked through it. I bought this one on ebay and it fit perfect! They even matched the color. A little pricy but worth it in my eyes.

$163 was too much. I got a new one at the dealer for $149 (found my ticket the other day) and replaced it AND went to the store and got ice cream in 4 hours. Only mistake I made was listening to folks say it's a difficult job to accomplish. It was harder to cut my muffler out than to replace the dash. Now it looks and sounds good.

So is there a way to replace the dash top itself? Those cheesy stick on covers would be my last resort. Even if they do look fine, i have a hard time justifying spending money on anthing that would just cover it up...

How old is the new one you got from the dealer? I wonder if they have improved the plastic to prevent the cracking from happening again?

Last I heard they are the same cruddy plastic they were to begin with. Mine's cracking. You should see some of my buddy's trucks. Looks like a mine field it's so bad.

Anyone try one of these?:

Seems the sun gets the dashes pretty bad. The dash in my 98 looks brand new and its never seen a garage.

Don't use Armor all on your dashboards. Try 303. It acts as a sunscreen for abs plastic and may help preserve your new dash.

Is that for the new style dash or the old sytle? Because I though that a new dash for my 2000 was going to be around 300-400. Do you have a part number? Mine looks terrible and I need to get it taken care of!

Thanks,

ADAM

I did my dash for $128 from the dealer. 96 now but make sure the dealer has the right part pulled up. they will probably have it in stock since the dashes crack allthe time. my dealer had several

Thanks guys! If this is all true, then that price has made my day! I need to go and have a talk at the parts counter. Does anyone know if there are instructions on R and R of the dash out on the net? I need to replace my evap core and it would be great to do both at the same time.
