Re:CD Changer

Thanks for the info. But I should expect good info on fuses and circuits from someone with the username APC.
Do you own the company or something. :

CR

Re:CD Changer

I got a 6-pack CD play for a Jeep Cherokee on E-bay, brand new, for $125. Made a mounting bracket for it and it works just fine. ;D

Re:CD Changer

there are currently two satellite radio services--XM and Sirius. programming is probably slightly different. costs are slightly higher per month for Sirius, i think $12.99, vs $9.99 for XM. most of the people around the stores i talked to said to go with XM. easy decision for me, as they have 2 "Classic Country" channels. hardware cost about $175, and i did my own install.

Re:CD Changer

Coolness, I need to look into that. I am so sick of radio I could puke. Where did you get the hardware at?

Re:CD Changer

circuit city. i opted for the Alpine unit. FM modulator included $130 after rebate. Pioneer has a FM modulated unit that CC was selling for $110 after rebate. i went with a Terk SR1X "through the glass" antenna ($47), so i wouldn't have to run a wire in from the outside somewhere.

Re:CD Changer

The factory 6-CD changer is "internally" an Alpine unit. Question is, does some other company OEM the unit to Alpine or do they manufacture it themselves?

Flyboy

Re:CD Changer

Did the install yesterday. Piece of cake. Spent most of the time trying to decide where to mount the modulator and the changer. Finally decided on the side of the cup holder/shift boot covering for the modulator and put the changer under the back seat on the driver side. The unit sounds great. Thanks for all the help guys.

CR
