Aftermarket CD changer
I'm looking for a CD changer for my RAZ head unit. I do NOT want an FM unit as my system is setup to control a changer through the head unit and the factory steering wheel controls. DC wants ~$600 for theirs. <br><br>I've seen a unit called the "USA SPEC SCD-130I" on the web, but I've never heard of USA SPEC and it won't do MP3s and I don't know if it will do CD-Rs. Has anyone had experience with USA SPEC?<br><br>Has any one used another (name brand) aftermarket changer and a P.I.E. protocol adapter?<br><br>Where's a good place to mount these in an "03 QC?<br><br>Any other info or advice would be appreciated. [undecided]<br><br>Thanks!<br><br>100 Proof

Hey 100,
Dunno about changers, making do just fine with my single in dash one.
In my '95 I mounted the changer hanging from the underside of the lid for the front center seat storage. Just screwed it into the backing. Drilled a small hole in the bottom of the bin near the back to run the power and control cords through. Then down the seatpost, under the carpet and back up under the dash. Ate up the room in the storage bin but it was all crap in there anyhow. Hanging it seemed to give it some isolation from the bumps.
Just an idea.

Re:Aftermarket CD changer
I've been told by a few shops that an Alpine unit is controllable by a RAZ head unit. I haven't confirmed it, but the Alpine seems to be the most common one named.<br><br>Hope it helps.

Steve-<br><br>That's a good suggestion on the mounting location. I don't know if these units will fit under the power seats anyway and I can sure relate to "...but it was all crap in there anyhow."<br><br>Homestead-<br><br>All the shops I've spoken with around here so far want to sell me the FM version with the remote. I'll pursue the Alpine suggestion.<br><br>Thanks Guys!!<br><br>100 Proof
