Installing a CD changer in a 95 CTD
Installing a CD changer in a 95 CTD
Has anyone installed one? My research tells me my 95 with a Infinity radio will accept a Alpine 6 disc changer.

Just wondered if anyone has put one in and what (if any) problems were encountered.

Thanks
Re:Installing a CD changer in a 95 CTD
You don't need anything high tech if you get an FM modulated changer all you do is wire a 12 v+ and an ignition to it and plug one end into your antenna wire the other back into the radio turn the radio to the radio station you set the changer to and listen. As for plugging a non fm modulated one into a dodge deck no idea doubtful though.
Re:Installing a CD changer in a 95 CTD
If you CD controls on the head unit, you could probably find a changer to work. If not, go with the FM modulated job. You'll have a little remote to run the changer, but that's it.

I put my changer under the center seat facing forward. Concealed and easy to get to!

Dave

My changer was easy to instal. It is fm modulated. Just remember to tune to station 89.1 to listen to the music. The above post gives the set up procedures.
I would just go with xm or sirius satelite radio. The sirius has a thing called the keg or something that can hols an enormous amount of music from any computer.
I saw one at Dashboard in Morehead, KY. It was awesome. 8)

if you have the 95 infinity with cd changer controls (should be an 8 pin din plug on the back) you need this cable

http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PERCHYALP

it will allow you to use an M-bus alpine cd changer

here's a compatability list from pheripherals site

Alpine: 6 disc M-Bus compatible changers (CHM-S601, CHM-S611, CHM-S620) or M-Bus switchable AI-NET changers (CHA-604, CHA-614).

you should get full control from your factory deck with no need for an extra screen like the fm units

I have had really good luck with Crutchfield www.crutchfield.com for car audio. They're aren't the absolute lowest prices around, but they include (for free) mounting kits, wires, excellent instructions and good help.
If you can change your own oil, you can follow their instructions and install a nice stereo. You might pay an extra $10, but it will be worth it, and they'll throw in $10 worth of free stuff that you'd need to buy anyway.
