Aux. stereo input jacks

Before I go though the trouble of removing my Infinity stereo to check does anyone know if there are aux input jacks on the cassette only unit such as are used for a cd changer.
I'd like to plug my mp3 player in directly.

I don't know for sure, but I seriously doubt it if you're asking about regular RCA jacks. If it does, it would be the first OEM stereo I've ever heard of that does.

You can buy a little box for like $20-40 that will connect to your radio and allow you to have RCA jacks.

My 95 with Infinity Cassette had CD Changer Controls, I think.

When I took it out, it had a plug connector that looked very similar to CD changer plugs.

I'll look when I get home to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

On some OEM radios you can buy an adaptor for the back that will allow you to plug AUX RCAs into the CD changer plug, I believe that is what they were talking about in the previous replies, your dealer should be able to let you know for sure.

The answer is no.

I recently replaced my Infinity radio and I can assure you there are no RCA inputs. There is one connector on the back, but it is a 6 or 7 pin connector for the matching CD changer that Dodge offers.

As far as adding RCA's with this $20 box, I believe the box that is being refered to is for converting high level speaker outputs into a low-level signal via RCA cable to send a signal to an aftermarket amplifier. If there is no input on the radio, what would you hook this "box" to?

I know of two options that you have:

1) Have you seen those tapes with the wire that come with portable cd players? That will work. You put the tape into your tape deck, and plug it into your mp3 player. If your mp3 player does not have a "line out" or something of that sort, you will have to use the headphone jack. If you must use the headphone jack, you may have to play with the volumes to get it so it doesn't "clip". I used this on a trip I just went on with a laptop to play DVDs. I played a DVD in the laptop, and using the headphone jack and the tape, I had the audio playing through the stereo. Way cool!

2) FM Modulator. You can purchase (or build with a kit) this which will covert the audio signal to an FM signal. These come in two types. The first plugs between your antenna and the stereo and broadcasts locally through the antenna wire on a pre-selected FM channel. It is usually in the 87-89mhz range. The other type works basically the same, but sends the signal throught the air (which means it can be caught from several yards, up to a mile away). I used a kit and built one of these for my home. I have it connected to my computer and can make a playlist that will play mp3s all day long. I can then go to the living room, shop, or out in the car and tune in my very own radio station....again....WAY COOL!

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys.
Finally got some replies a month after posting this.

Found out there is no way for an aux input on my Infinity. I tried the FM modulator and cassette adaptor route, didn't sound good at all with the modulator being the worse. Finally just bought a new Sony 50w per channel Mp3/ CD player tuner with aux jack off ebay for $140. Sounds much better than the Infinity, install took all of 15 minutes.
