I picked up this '99 QC power seat to put in my '75 W200 Club Cab and I have a few questions.

This seat clearly is a driver's side power seat, but there is a switch on the passenger side that puzzles me.

Passenger side what is this switch for?

Under the console there is an odd electrical component forward of the cup holder, what is it?

Passenger side what is this under the seat? Also you see wires from the pass. side switch running into the seat back and a couple dangling connectors.

 

Well, what happens when you turn the switch on??? Maybe the PO had something in mind for the passenger!!

 

Interesting, my power seat does not have dual tilt levers like yours. The switch in question looks like my power lumbar switch, which I have on the left side. Mine's a 1998.

 

I don't know, I got the seat from a salvage yard in Idaho and I never even saw the truck it came out of. I don't even know if it's factory or not.

I wondered if it was something like that, but I honestly have no way of telling.

That's a heater!!!!!! under the pass. seat is a heater, I bet the switch is for that!

 

In fact, I'd bet that the wifey told him she would only ride in the truck if the seat was warm.....Depending on where it's from, the seat may have gotten cold b/c leather tends to do that quicker than cloth

 

looks like a power lumbar seat.

 

if you notice, it looks like the wire/air tube going up top (towards back of seat) looks like it is entering into seats back instead of the seat itself. Just my $.02.

 

I think it is a lumbar support, the tube into the seat back is definitly an air tube, and the "sack" under the seat seems to have a "round-ish" object inside and is not held tight to the bottom of the seat.

Is it factory? Any idea how to wire it?


Side note: my '75 W200 is now getting more than just a new seat, yesterday I just put money on an early '91 4wd Cummins w/NV4500, the old '75 Dodge is a getting a Cummins. Happy days. Oddly enough, I suddenly find myself much more interested in the first gen Cummins, wierd how that happens.

 

That switch is AMC.....Ain't Made by Chrysler.
