4-way problems

the 4 ways on my 94 ram ctd are acting up. I replaced the flasher but they still do not work. however the turn signals will now only work if the 4-way switch is depressed. I'm thinking either the turn switch or the hazzard switch is bad, any ideas?

Had a 1st gen with the same problem. The four ways are wired direct to the battery (signals aren't) the wire looked good but was corroded off inside the insulation. Don't know if the 2nd generation are wired the same. It was not nice to find.

I was the same as BBB.. My 89 completely smoked the wire to the 4way, bad wiring by DC.

Check all the fuses and pull the kick panel to see the back of the fuse panel.. It sounds like a couple wires have rubbed.

Another is a Bad Ground. Grounds cause all kinds of gremlins. Check the battery, block and frame connections for poor grounding.

And number 3, your trailering harness. If you have the harness of have added an aftermarket harness you could check that too for shorts etc.

Best of luck..
