I hate having my wheel hit curbs and things, I'd just like to find some nice 3/4 ton wheels but I will still run the same tires. Will this work??

 

Are you talking about just on the front? I think the dual rear wheel set up is staged to run with a wider front stance to add stability when towing. I beleive there are spacers on the front hubs that extend the width of the stance. I imagine you could put the flatter offset single rear wheel style wheels on it, but you wouldn't be able to rotate them properly.

I took the dually front adapters off and used 2500 wheels on front. I'm not sure the studs are adequate. Make sure and use correct lug nuts. This works fine on front. Have to carry extra spare(same as trailer wheels), no big deal for me.
The rear would look sillly with single and dually fenders. Special offset wheel would help.

What do you mean by front adapters?? Are they hooked to the hub or what?

 

The front rotors are usually just 3/4 ton units with an adaptor on them. The adaptor bolts onto the wheel studs and spaces the wheel mounting surface about 4-5 inches for the dually offset.

The spacer has eight wheel studs on it for the wheel to mount to.

Pull one of your front wheels off and look closely. You will find the eight large nuts, like lug nuts, holding the adaptor on the rotor.
