3rd Gen dually wheels on a 2nd Gen dually?
Hey Guys,
I thought I would try posting here as well as in the 3rd Gen forum....
I would like to know if 3rd Gen dually wheels will fit on my 98.5 dually.....are the offsets compatible? Will they clear the drums? I have an opportunity to get a complete set tires/wheels off of an 04 w/ simulators and excellent rubber for next to nothing. Any feedback would be great.

As far as the offsets and clearing the brake drums, I would think you would be OK, but that is just a guess. They changed to the 17" wheels to clear the larger brakes they now offer. Big brakes are good, if they decrease stopping distance without giving up service life, but 17" will limit you on tire choices.

I also in the process of doing this untill I finish my suspension so I can get my 22.5's to fit...
They are 8x6.5 stud pattern (same as ours) and since they're bigger diameter you should'nt have clearence problems, as for offset I'm not sure but I think they will stick out a little more...
If you run across another set let me know...

Why!!!!! I hate my 17's can only run 235 80's 17 without screwing up my gear ratio and then the tire tread and choice's suck run your 16's or go to 19.5's. just stay away from the 17's

Its going to take a little bit for me to be able to run my 22.5's that I bought, and I'm up for some new tires since mine are bald. I figure I can probibly get a good set of takeoffs from someone for what I would spend putting tires on mine...
